The Nemeon Team along with the Vendor Committee is pleased to announce a new preferred vendor Sage Truck Driving School.  Sage has 24 locations throughout the United States and can effectively reach all members for the new Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements.  The Theory part of the requirement can be done online at the employee’s own time schedule.  Once this Theory portion is completed, then they will be ready for the next portion of the ELDT requirements, the behind the wheel training.  One of the great things about Sage is that they have the ELDT training all in one place, you don’t have to worry if you have covered everything in the required training and that you covered all the new requirements.  After that you can decide what the next step should be, Sage has a complete program and can help with that if needed.

Please see the Sage contact information below or let any NEMEON Team member know, and we will get you in touch with Barb.

Brief description by Sage Driving School:

With 24 locations nationwide, all included on the FMCSA National Training Provider Registry (TPR) effective 2/7/2022, we have created a large footprint to help companies such as yours navigate the upcoming Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Requirements.  Briefly, the ELDT rule requires “theory” training on about 30 topics, and behind the wheel (BTW) driving “skills” training for both backing and road driving.  Verification of training by a training provider on the TPR will be required in order for a driver to take the CDL skills test in any state.

We understand that there may be specific needs for your many locations, as they are all independent distributors with special training needs and budgets.  I wanted to list a couple of options that we could provide, in order to continue a dialogue with you about our training.

  • We have developed a custom on-line training platform called ProDriverU (www.prodriveru.com).  ProDriverU includes all of the theory topics required by ELDT. This can be purchased as a stand-alone product for those interested in just the theory portion of the requirements.  A Certificate of Completion for just the theory portion would be submitted to FMCSA and the State Transportation Department of the driver’s state of residency.  Drivers would then need to complete the BTW skills portion of the requirements from a training provider used for the that portion of the training.   ProDriverU has many benefits for both driver and employer, including tracking of driver progress, it is self-paced, and the system records all scores as required by ELDT.

  • We can also provide a combination of the on-line training platform (completed by the driver prior to attending) and the BTW training at one of our schools.  This would provide the driver with both theory and BTW portions of the ELDT requirements.  This certificate would then be submitted to FMCSA so the driver can take the CDL test.  Our schools can arrange for the test, and in some cases, SAGE is a state tester so we can both train and test drivers.  Prior to skills training, drivers would need to obtain a CDL permit from their state, pass a DOT drug screen and medical exam, and provide a current motor vehicle record.

SAGE would not require a minimum number of drivers in order to provide either training.  We understand that companies have different needs at different locations during different seasons. We want to provide the training to meet your needs.
